Phoenix IDA Awards $10,000 to Teleos Preparatory Academy

PHOENIX (January 26, 2012) – The Phoenix Industrial Development Authority (Phoenix IDA) announced this week a grant award totaling $10,000 to Teleos Preparatory Academy, a Phoenix-based charter school in the Great Hearts Academies network. Awarded under the Phoenix IDA Community Investment Fund, the grant will serve to support Teleos’ Closing the Achievement Gap program, an intensive model founded on education equality.

Mortgage Credit Certificate ("MCC") Annual Filing with IRS

To claim your mortgage interest credit on your 2011 income tax return, you will need IRS Form 8396 – http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f8396.pdf.  With your lender’s 2011 interest statement and a copy of a prior Form 8396, you have what you need to complete the form.  However, if you do not have a prior year’s form and do not have a copy of your mortgage credit certificate, we can research your certificate and provide a photocopy (not a “duplicate original”) for a minimal fee.

Beginning Wednesday, August 17, 2011, The Industrial Development Authority of the City of Phoenix, Arizona (“Phoenix IDA”) will accept applications from 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that would like to receive financial support for programs that benefit City of Phoenix residents.  Applications must fall into one of the following eligible categories:  1) Economic Development, or 2) Education – Grades PK‑12.

Phoenix IDA moving cash to Arizona lenders

The Phoenix Industrial Development Authority said today that it will pull IDA deposits totaling $1 million out of a national bank and place the money instead into four Arizona community banks that are lending money to businesses within the state.

Phoenix IDA Supports Micro Business Owners

The Industrial Development Authority of the City of Phoenix, AZ (Phoenix IDA) has approved $15,000 from its Community Investment Fund to go to Community Food Connections to assist micro businesses at the Phoenix Public Market and Urban Grocery.
